Oktoberfest Beer & BBQ Returns for Its Fourth Year at a New Taino Beach Location

Grand Bahama festival pairs Bahamian barbecue and island flavours with German inspired cuisine, live music and cultural entertainment

NASSAU, Bahamas (22nd October 2026) The Fourth Annual Oktoberfest Beer & BBQ will take place on Saturday, 24 October, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., making its debut at Taino Beach after three years in Freetown, East Grand Bahama. Hosted by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, the free festival will bring residents and visitors together at one of Grand Bahama’s popular gathering places for an evening of food, music, culture and entertainment for the entire family.

Set against the backdrop of Taino Beach, Oktoberfest will blend an internationally recognised tradition with the distinctive rhythms and flavours of Grand Bahama. Guests can enjoy specialty pretzels, grilled sausages, schnitzel, bratwurst and loaded potatoes alongside smoked meats and local favourites, complemented by a selection of Bahamian and international beers.

The 2026 Oktoberfest Beer & BBQ is supported by Grand Bahama Power Company, LUSCO, JB’s Liquors and the Grand Bahama Island Promotion Board.

“Oktoberfest is recognised around the world, and in Grand Bahama we are proud to present it with a distinctly Bahamian spirit,” said Jackson Weech, Director General of The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism. “By bringing an internationally familiar celebration to life through our cuisine, music, creativity and hospitality, we are creating meaningful opportunities for Bahamian businesses and performers while inviting travellers to experience more of Grand Bahama. Events such as this strengthen our tourism offering and connect global audiences with the culture and character that make our islands unique.”

A whole pig roast will be a centrepiece of the culinary programme, prepared at the festival and served throughout the event. Carving will begin around the 4 p.m. opening, with complimentary samples available to attendees.

Guests can also test their culinary skills in the Secret BBQ Sauce Competition. Open at no cost to adult residents and visitors, the competition will challenge participants to create signature barbecue sauces from scratch using ingredients provided at the festival. Medals will be awarded to the winners.

As the sun sets over Taino Beach, the programme will continue with live DJ music, culinary demonstrations, cultural dance performances and a Junkanoo rush by the West End Conquerors. The entertainment lineup will also feature Lil Joe Cartwright & The Trouble Band, Phase 4 Band, Larry Johnson & The Island Vibes Band, the Bahamas Brass Band, Rycon Bahamas, Shine242, Kirkland Bodie and national headliner Stileet. A Visitors Mystery Basket Challenge and other activities will complete the evening.

The move to Taino Beach marks a new chapter for Oktoberfest, placing the festival in a more central and accessible location. With Grand Bahamians at the heart of the celebration, the event offers international and domestic visitors another way to discover the island through its food, music, culture and people.
