NAD Opens First Class Lounge At LPIA

The Lignum Club Promises “An Exceptional Travel Experience”

Residents and visitors traveling to the Family Islands and heading to non-US international destinations now have access to a new posh airport lounge at the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA).

The Lignum Club at the LPIA is located on the airside after the security control level in the Domestics Lounge and offers a premium experience just before take off.

The air-conditioned lounge offers flight monitors, cable television, spa services, two service bars, business services including print, fax and copy services, internet, private meeting spaces and telephones for international calling.

During its recent opening, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Aviation Lorraine Armbrister applauded the Nassau Airport Development (NAD) company noting that this is the first world class airport lounge that Family Island travelers would be able to access at LPIA.

“It is a testament to LPIA’s commitment to provide consistent high quality service to all its customer groups. With the opening of The Lignum Club, LPIA has made the promise of a world-class travel experience possible for every passenger,” she said.

“Indeed because of our geographical makeup where we have islands expanding 100 miles of ocean, domestic travel for this market is paramount to the economic and social progress of the entire Bahamas. The opening of the club also solidifies LPIA status as a regional and global leader in providing first class quality services. Today’s enhancement is yet another milestone along the journey towards LPIA becoming a hub for the lower Caribbean – a goal I am certain we will achieve.”

 NAD operates The Lignum Lounge.

Chief Executive Officer of NAD Vernice Walkine said this club is a really important addition to LPIA.

“In the development of this club, we have paid very close attention to the every aspect of the lounge to ensure first class comfort and superior service,” she said.

“We’ve created a space designed to reflect the unique culture of The Bahamas, the vibrant colours, textures and flavours of The Bahamas permeate this lounge giving it a unique sense of place. It’s opened to all passengers traveling through this terminal and we are especially pleased that for the first time, domestic travelers will have full access to a first class passenger lounge.”
