Ministry of Tourism Welcomes Strategic Investments Planned for Atlantis Paradise Island

Nassau, The Bahamas (14 Aug,2025)- The Ministry of Tourism welcomes Brookfield’s $1.93 billion refinancing of Atlantis Paradise Island, along with the company’s proposed $475 million in additional investments to enhance the resort’s facilities and overall guest experience. Its ongoing partnership with Atlantis Paradise Island reflects this expertise and commitment to strategic growth in the Caribbean hospitality sector.

The Hon. I. Chester Cooper, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, noted that “Brookfield’s planned investments at Atlantis Paradise Island are expected to create hundreds of construction jobs and support long-term employment across a range of roles. These initiatives provide meaningful opportunities for skills development, on-the-job training, and career advancement, contributing to the growth of a capable and versatile workforce within The Bahamas’ tourism sector. The Ministry of Tourism welcomes partnerships that help strengthen workforce readiness while supporting sustainable growth across the industry.”

Brookfield’s planned improvements will support ongoing operations and development, including significant enhancements across guestrooms, public areas, dining venues, and other resort amenities.

Atlantis Paradise Island officially opened in December 1994 and has since become a landmark destination on Paradise Island. Today, the resort features over 3,800 rooms across five distinct lodging options, more than 40 restaurants and bars, an 18-hole championship golf course, an expansive marina, Aquaventure,a 141-acre water park,and one of the world’s largest open-air marine habitats.
