The Islands of The Bahamas at CTO’s State of the Tourism Industry Conference 2025 in Barbados

The Islands of The Bahamas was proudly represented at the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s (CTO) State of the Tourism Industry Conference (SOTIC) 2025, held this year in beautiful Barbados. Themed “Reimagining Caribbean Tourism: Research, Relevance and the Road Ahead,” the conference brought together senior tourism leaders, policymakers, and young innovators from across the region to discuss strategies, trends, and collaborative initiatives shaping the future of Caribbean tourism.
Our delegation from The Bahamas played a key role throughout the conference. Deputy Director General Valery Brown-Alce shared important insights on the current state of the tourism industry in The Bahamas, highlighting achievements, opportunities, and ongoing efforts to drive sustainable growth across the islands. She also led strategic roundtable discussions with high-level representatives from other Caribbean destinations, facilitating dialogue on regional collaboration, innovation, and research-driven strategies for enhancing the Caribbean’s competitive advantage as a premier tourism destination.
Adding a vibrant and forward-looking perspective, Junior Minister of Tourism Xaria Ingraham participated in the Regional Tourism Youth Congress, engaging in dynamic debates with other young leaders from the Caribbean. Her contributions showcased the next generation’s commitment to reimagining tourism in the region, bringing fresh ideas and a strong voice for youth-driven initiatives in sustainable development and digital innovation.
