FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation Announces Date for 37th Annual Pineapple Fest
Nassau, THE BAHAMAS (04 June 2026) - The Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation (BMOTIA) is pleased to announce the 37th staging of the Pineapple Festival, set to take place in Gregory Town, Eleuthera.
From 5-6 June, Pineapple Festival Park will pay homage to the world-renowned sugarloaf pineapple and the farmers and communities who have cultivated it for generations.
“There’s a reason why the sugarloaf pineapple has been honored with an entire festival for nearly 40 years,” said Latia Duncombe, Director General. “It is an internationally acclaimed fruit whose sweetness has fostered connections across borders and anchored Eleuthera’s identity. To attend Pineapple Fest is to do more than simply enjoy a homecoming; it is to celebrate a cornerstone of our agricultural history and a vital part of our nation’s global legacy.”
This year's Pineapple Festival promises a packed two-day schedule featuring more than 30 vendors, live entertainment from 13 Bahamian artists, a Junkanoo rushout, cash prizes and activities for all ages.
Festivalgoers can participate in the famous pineapple eating contest or indulge in pineapple-infused dishes, drinks and desserts alongside cooking contests and artisan vendors showcasing Bahamian creativity. Headlining the entertainment lineup are Bahamian artists Kirkland “KB” Bodie, Dillon “DMac” McKenzie, Johnny Cake and others, bringing together community and culture at Pineapple Festival Park during one of the sweetest weekends in The Bahamas.
Further speaking to the festival's significance for Eleuthera and its communities the Director General said: “Pineapple Festival is a profound opportunity for the people of Eleuthera to celebrate a crop that has defined their island's identity for over a century and to honour the farmers who placed both Eleuthera and the sugarloaf pineapple in the global spotlight,” she said. “I look forward to this year's festivities and the opportunity to showcase why we are proud to be Bahamian.”
For visitors, Pineapple Festival offers a rare point of entry into Eleuthera's soul, an island whose unhurried beauty and deep farming traditions make it one of the most distinctive destinations in The Bahamas’ portfolio of 16 islands.
Pineapple Fest, a signature BMOTIA event launched in 1988, honours Eleuthera's pineapple farmers and highlights the island's longstanding connection to agriculture. By celebrating the pineapple, an international symbol of hospitality, the festival reflects the warmth, and welcome visitors and travellers have come to know and love in The Bahamas.
