NASSAU, Bahamas (26 May 2023) – The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation (BMOTIA) is thrilled to announce its partnership with the 3rd Annual Walker’s Cay Blue Marlin Invitational Fishing Tournament as the title sponsor of this year’s much anticipated event. The three-day tournament slated for 24 - 27 May is expected to attract hundreds of anglers from all over the world, with 50 boats competing for more than $1 million in total cash prizes.

This year’s event will feature signature categories, from Largest Wahoo, Tuna (Bigeye, Yellowfin or Blackfin) and Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi). Blue Marlin, White Marlin and Sailfish are also eligible for catch and release at this year’s tournament.

Of the upcoming tournament, the Hon. John Pinder II, Parliamentary Secretary, BMOTIA, said: “Walker's Cay has always been known as a fisherman's paradise. For over 50 years, the best of the best flocked to Walker's Cay to pull in the biggest catch. After several years hiatus, I am proud to see Walker's Cay has risen from the ashes and destruction and once again is hauling in fishing enthusiasts from all over the world.”

Pinder added: “This Walker's Cay Blue Marlin Invitational is the third annual and continues to be an annual success with 50 boats participating. This tournament is putting Walker's Cay back on the map as the premier deep sea fishing destination, with some of the world's best anglers at the reel. With $1 million payout, that’s a lot of Marlins! I look forward to Walker's Cay continuing to attract the best of the best to our shores and seas.”
