NASSAU, Bahamas, March 5, 2021 – The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation (BMOTA) kicked off “From The Bahamas With Love,” their annual Romance Expo featuring an afternoon tailored specifically to trade professionals, including travel agents, event planners and media. Over 1300 attendees tuned in from the U.S. and Canada and were given the opportunity to meet and connect with industry leaders, partners, hotels, venues and services for a truly unique and educational experience and hear the latest on planning romance themed events or getaways in The Bahamas.

On Wednesday, March 10, 2021 (from 4pm to 7pm EST), “From The Bahamas With Love” will be open to consumers, including soon-to-be engaged or recently engaged couples, future brides and grooms, bachelorette party planners, honeymoon do-over seekers and more.  Attendees on March 10 will also be the first to view and downloadthe BMOTA’s hot-off-the-press “From The Bahamas With Love” Magazine.

For Travel industry and Event Planners who were unable to attend the Virtual Romance Expo “From The Bahamas With Love” event on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, they can still have access to the recorded sessions for 30 days by clicking on https://trade.bahamasromanceexpo.com/

Participants at the events are able to use the “Selfie Booth” to send snapshots to friends, family and clients highlighting romance in The Bahamas.  Attendees at the events can participate in networking booths, a fashion show, cooking demonstrations and breakout panel sessions with local and international experts in the romance industry.

As soon as the Virtual Romance Expo was over, I called a few brides who are getting married in 2021-22, to tell them how wonderful and informative the show was.  I suggested they attend the consumer event on March 10.  The fashion show, the speakers and the whole line up of activities will all give them a feeling of excitement.   Definitely worthwhile.”  Carmelina, McTavish Travel

Consumers seeking information on planning a romance experience in The Bahamas can still register to attend the Virtual Romance Expo at https://www.bahamas.com/from-the-bahamas-with-love-consumer .

The Bahamas is one of the world’s leading destinations for weddings and honeymoons, and romance is an especially important segment of Bahamas tourism. In the three years preceding the pandemic, The Bahamas annually saw over 67,000 visitors traveling for weddings, honeymoons, engagements or a special getaway for two. The global romance market brought in an estimated $415 million in revenue in 2019, and the impact from canceled and postponed events due to the pandemic in 2020 has undoubtedly had a great effect on destinations across the world.

“There is tremendous engagement and passion about the business of romance in The Bahamas from all corners of the world,” said Dionisio D’Aguilar, the Bahamas Minister of Tourism & Aviation. The Bahamas Virtual Romance Expo aims to help those planning a romantic escape or celebration in the future to become aware of the experts and resources that will help take all of the stress away from planning and allow more time to find out why It’s Better in The Bahamas.
