‘On the Buses’ with The Bahamas

While biting cold chills the UK capital of London, Londoners are being inspired with visions of sunnier horizons.  Some of London’s iconic buses travelling the key city routes and tourist hotspots are transforming their journeys with scenes of pristine beaches, junkanoo and the world-famous swimming pigs of The Islands of The Bahamas.

The Bahamas branding campaign started at the end of January and will run for two months. The buses will be seen along central London routes which take in iconic locations such as Piccadilly Circus, Harrods, Oxford Street and the West End theatre district.

Anthony Stuart, Director - Europe, The Bahamas Tourist Office in London, took the opportunity to hop aboard a Piccadilly-bound Bahamas branded bus to speak with passengers and tell them about the beauty and attractions of the islands. “It’s all about inspiring Londoners and encouraging them to book their vacations to The Bahamas this winter, said Stuart. “The UK is an important market for tourism to The Bahamas and London is a commuting city for residents and visitors, with the iconic London buses offering an impactful means with which to advertise The Islands Of The Bahamas. This follows on from our London Taxi campaign of 2018 and 2019, in which we branded a fleet of London taxis with images of The Islands of The Bahamas. Both campaigns were in partnership with British Airways, soon to offer 5 flights a week from London Heathrow Airport to Nassau.

The buses are just one element of The Bahamas Tourist Office marketing campaign for 2019/2020, which includes outdoor advertising, electronic ads in London train stations, the underground tube stations and the financial district of Canary Wharf, consumer shows and travel agent training. All designed to put The Islands of The Bahamas in front of travellers considering their holiday plans during the UK’s busy booking period.
