This annual charity event, the first of its kind for local maritime sport, benefits the Bahamas National Trust. It initially started in 2016 with 26 participating boats and has now grown to over 70 boats.
Hundreds of boating enthusiasts — personal boat owners, commercial boat charters, engineers and mechanics, captains, and beach-goers — ride in a convoy of powerboats departing from Nassau Harbour (New Providence) and traveling to the northern islands of Eleuthera.
The Bahamas National Youth Choir (BNYC) presents the cantata, “I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes” in collaboration with the Nazareth String Ensemble and local choirs — the University of The Bahamas Concert Choir and the Adventist Vocal Ensemble. In addition, the orchestra for this event will feature 10 Bahamian student musicians from the C.V. Bethel Senior High School Concert Band.
This event provides a Native experience for visitors traveling to Nassau & Paradise Island. It features live performances by local Bahamian artists, including Fire Dancing, Limbo Dancing, and Rake 'N Scrape music, hosted by Darold Miller. The cost of the show is $55.00 for persons over 12 Years Old / $25.00 for Children under 12; it includes one drink.
The World Judo Junior and Teams Championships is an Olympic Qualifier where over 80 countries and 700+ athletes will participate.
Competitions take place at 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day. See the full schedule here.
The Sea Camp will provide kids a fun, educational, and engaging summer experience. This year's theme is the 'International Year of the Reef (IYOR)' and camp participants will learn, see, and experience the Bahamian marine environment, with an in-depth look into what coral reefs are, their importance, the threats they face, and what can be done to reduce those threats.
This one-woman show — written, arranged, and performed by Thespian Terez Davis-Nixon — will give you a taste of the best in Bahamian Drama and Comedy. She will take you on an emotional journey that will examine the strengths and weaknesses of historical women, such as Abolitionist Sojourner Truth, and some of the leading women in The Bahamas in areas of politics and religion.
Prejudging for this Bodybuilding Fitness Physique Wellness & Figure competition will begin at 9:00 a.m. Entrance fee is $10 at the door. The finals will be held at 7:00 p.m. with tickets available in several categories:
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Bahamas Reef Environment Educational Foundation (BREEF) and "International Year of the Reef," BREEF invites you to help celebrate our oceans, while learning how to identify fish and snorkel in our beautiful waters.
This tournament is in support of The Bahamas AIDS Foundation.
