In this NCAA Division 1 pre-season college basketball tournament, eight of the USA's top men's teams battle to become the champion: Villanova, Arizona, Purdue, NC State, Tennessee, SMU, Western Kentucky, and Northern Iowa.
The Bahamas Half Marathon includes an individual half marathon, a three-person half marathon relay, a 10k run, and a 5k run.

Greenwood Beach Resort will be holding its first Kiteboarding event in Cat Island. This is a surface water sport, combining aspects of wakeboarding, snowboarding, windsurfing, surfing, paragliding, skateboarding, and gymnastics into one extreme sport.
A full-week kiteboarding package is available that includes accommodations, meals, and more.
Sports enthusiasts have been gathering at Taino Beach in Lucaya every year since 1986 for a grueling 0.5 mile (1k) swim, 20 mile (25k) bike ride and 3.5 mile (5k) run. Starting time for the Conchman is 8:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for the Iron Kids Race.
A five(5) mile Fun Run/Walk will be held starting at the cork tree in James Cistern to the Governor's Harbour International Airport runway and back. This year is for bragging rights. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies will be given. All proceeds are donated to the Cancer Society of Eleuthera Branch.
Bragging rights are the order of the day as reputations and hundreds of thousands of dollars in prizes and cash are up for grabs in the third leg of the tournament. Held in Harbour Island, participants, along with their family and friends, will have the choice of relaxing on one of the best beaches in the Caribbean or enjoying a variety of other activities.
