The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism Investments & Aviation Empowers Local Businesses with Google Visibility Webinar
NASSAU, BAHAMAS, [September 4th, 2025] - The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation (BMOTIA) is inviting local tourism stakeholders to participate in a new webinar designed to strengthen their digital presence through the creation and optimization of Google Business Profiles.
This effort is designed to position hotels, tour operators, restaurants, and other partners for success in the digital era, enabling them to be discovered by travelers across search, maps, and emerging AI-powered planning tools. The initiative follows the successful completion of the Google Maps Street View Project, which mapped all 16 islands of The Bahamas. Together, these efforts create a robust digital infrastructure that connects travelers directly to Bahamian experiences.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments & Aviation, the Hon. I. Chester Cooper, said the program underscores the Ministry’s commitment to empowering Bahamian businesses through innovation. “The way travelers plan their vacations is rapidly evolving. With AI-generated itineraries and real-time search shaping how people plan their vacations, it is critical that our local stakeholders are not just visible, but competitive, in the global digital space. By ensuring that every hotel, tour operator, and restaurant across our islands is properly represented online, we are strengthening The Bahamas’ presence and opening doors for greater economic opportunities,” he said.
Director General of Tourism, Mrs. Latia Duncombe, noted that the initiative delivers tangible benefits for small and medium-sized enterprises across the islands. “This is about leveling the playing field for our tourism partners, particularly our family island operators and independent businesses,” she explained. “A complete and optimized Google Business Profile can mean the difference between being overlooked or being booked. We want to make it as easy as possible for travelers to discover, connect with, and support Bahamian businesses.”
The Ministry encourages tourism stakeholders to register and take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their digital footprint and connect with today’s tech-savvy travelers.
