Eleuthera & Harbour Island

We are bringing in all of The Bahamas Independence celebrations during the month of July 2023.

The best way to make a noise and celebrate is to begin with a motorcade throughout the island, starting from Gregory Town in the north and ending in Savannah Sound. Our Bahamas National Anthem was written by the late Mr. Timothy Gibson from Savannah Sound, so this is a great way to end the motorcade.

The Eleuthera Winter Residents Reception is The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments, & Aviation's way of demonstrating appreciation to all of our second homeowners and visitors who choose Eleuthera as their home away from home yearly.
This event also allows for first timers to experience a little bit of our local culture through food, local band performances, and Bahamian bush tea sampling.

The annual Eleuthera Second Homeowners & Winter Residents Reception is a way for us here on Eleuthera to demonstrate our appreciation to those who chose our island as their second home. There will be live entertainment, locally made souvenirs and crafts on display, as well as down-home Bahamian eats and drinks.

The Wesley Methodist Church located in Governors Harbour will be celebrating its 175th church anniversary. 

On, March 23rd, 2023, the church will be honoring some of its members and on March 27th, 2023, will be the celebration.

This event is held to bring together families, friends, and visitors in one area to enjoy great food and entertainment.
Funds raised during the event assist with initiatives and other activities on the island.

This event encourages locals and visitors to come out and enjoy delicious native dishes, desserts, live entertainment, and activities for the young and old.

Funds raised during the event go towards enhancing the James Cistern area and assisting with initiatives throughout the island. 

The Tarpum Bay festival is a way to encourage descendants to come together and have an enjoyable time with family, friends, and visitors in the area. There will be live entertainment, junkanoo rush-outs, and delicious native dishes and items on sale. 

The descendants of Hatchet Bay Eleuthera come together to raise funds to assist the settlement with upgrades and community activities for the inhabitants.  Activities include live entertainment by Bahamian Artists, fashion shows, and various competitions for adults and children.  A wide variety of food, beverages, desserts, and sweets are on sale at the Bay Fest.

Locals and visitors get the opportunity to enjoy a variety of dishes prepared using conch. This is also an enjoyable time for the locals and visitors to come out and enjoy the festivities. 

This activity needs all hands-on deck to assist with cleaning up areas such as Three Island Dock, Palmetto Point Dump, and Central Eleuthera.
