Mutton Festival

Prominent among island natives, sheep have made their mark in Long Island and is widely known throughout the country as the island's national animal. Natives and visitors alike have given raving reviews about the scrumptious dishes made using the sheep' meat, referred to all as Mutton.

The annual Mutton Fest is held in March of each year and is a cultural event where Long Island vendors get the opportunity to showcase their creativity in preparing of the mutton in many different styles.

Bayfest

The descendants of Hatchet Bay Eleuthera come together to raise funds to assist the settlement with upgrades and community activities for the inhabitants. 
Activities include live entertainment by Bahamian Artists, fashion shows, and various competitions for adults and children. 
A wide variety of food, beverages, desserts, and sweets are on sale at the Bay Fest. 

Entry Fee: $5.00.

 

 

PALMETTO POINT HOMECOMING

The Palmetto Point Homecoming is held during the week of the Whit Monday holiday. This event encourages people on the island to come out and enjoy good times with family and friends. This is also a great time to plan a vacation or family reunion.
The highlight of the event is the locally made floating bar. Individuals can swim up to the floating bar, sit, chill, and drink cold beverages while in the water.

There will be fun, food, live entertainment, and games for everyone.



 

Back to The Bay

The Tarpum Bay festival is a way to encourage descendants to come together and have an enjoyable time with family, friends, and visitors in the area. There will be live entertainment, junkanoo rush-outs, and delicious native dishes and items on sale.
