The Bahamas Hotel Association marked its 50th anniversary in 2002.

Registered under the Companies Act as a private non-profit organization, the Bahamas Hotel Association (BHA) is the official organization and national voice of the hotel industry in The Bahamas and for its allied membership of companies engaged in the hospitality industry.

Mission Statement
The Bahamas Hotel Association (BHA) serves the needs of the Bahamas hotel industry by providing a forum to facilitate the promotion, profitability, quality growth and security of the tourism industry consistent with the needs of The Bahamas.

The tourism industry plays a most important role in the Bahamian economy and the hotel sector makes a major contribution in this effort.

The Bahamas Hotel Association (BHA) represents the interests of the country?s leading hotels and a large allied membership of companies that support the industry.

The primary objective of The Bahamas Hotel Association (BHA) is to do everything possible to promote, increase and regulate tourism through the cooperation, understanding and close association among hotel owners and operators in The Bahamas.

The association has particular responsibility to serve as the chief advocate on behalf of the interest of the hotel industry in its relations with the Government of The Bahamas and all its ministries, departments, agencies and officials.

Licensed hotels with fifteen guest rooms or more enjoy full membership in the BHA as Operator Members and are represented by their senior managers whom they appoint as Active Members.

Allied Hotel Membership is available to smaller properties of less than fifteen rooms, licensed to provide lodging for guests.

Allied Membership is open to purveyors of merchandise and services to hotels, or to persons who market products or services to the hotel industry.

Associate Membership and Honorary Membership may be bestowed upon persons under special circumstances
