9 - 11 Jul
Regattas in The Bahamas started in 1954 when a group of Bahamians and American yachtsmen saw the need to revitalize the art of sailing and boat building in The Bahamas. Their efforts gave birth to the first regatta being held in Elizabeth Habour April 1954.
This holiday commemorates the day when The Bahamas became a fully independent nation on July 10, 1973, separating from the United Kingdom. However, we remain a member of The Commonwealth of Nations.
This market is held biweekly (weather permitting) and offers a wide range of 'true true' Bahamian handmade products for sale — straw items, jewelry, paintings, ceramics, music, clothing, pet wares, local fruit popsicles and drinks, and so much more!
