Grand Bahama Regatta & Homecoming

Sailors of well-known Class B and C sloops from throughout The Islands of The Bahamas will compete in different races just off Taino Beach in Lucaya. Trophies and cash prizes are awarded to the top boaters, but the most sought-after prize is the reputation of being "Champion of the Sea."

Spectators onshore can enjoy a festive environment of food, drinks, music and other entertainment throughout the weekend.

West End Jr. Sailing Regatta

The Ministry of Tourism, in support of the West End Eco-fishing Camp Association and the Grand Bahama Sailing Club, will host this recreational spring time event. The goal is to attract young sailors, many under age 15, for a weekend of competitive sailing and lots of  camaraderie for the entire family to enjoy.

Rum Cay Homecoming Festival

This festival brings together locals, plus descendants and residents from Nassau and neighboring islands to celebrate Rum Cay's heritage. It will feature stalls offering authentically Bahamian crafts, food and drink for sale. There will also be games like Dominoes and Beach Volleyball, plus live entertainment.

Acklins Island Regatta

This annual sailing competition features a variety of festive activities, in addition to the racing with Class C sloops. There will be a float parade from the airport to the Regatta Park, bus tours throughout the island, boat curing, boat riding with performances by Bahamian artists and other activities on board, a fashion show, beauty pageant, local food and drinks for sale, fun and games for the entire family - such as plaiting of the pole, climbing the greasy pole - and contests like conch cracking, bark beating, dancing and much more, plus an award ceremony and skippers' party.
