Bahamas Independence Celebrations: Grand Bahama Island

The Bahamas celebrates 42 years as an independent nation. Events are planned throughout Grand Bahama Island in commemoration of this significant event in the life of our nation.
The Bahamas will celebrate 44 years as an independent country. Events are planned across The Abacos in commemoration of this significant event in the life of our nation.
These events are held throughout the entire Island in the various districts, and commemorates The Bahamas’ Independence from Great Britain on July 10, 1973. The highlight is the flag-raising ceremony, which constitutes a proud moment for all Bahamians.
The venues are the Administator's Complex in Nicholl's Town, North Andros, Fresh Creek Central Andros, Mangrove Cay, and South Andros.
