Fish Fry At Smith's Point
This weekly event takes place in the quaint settlement of Smith's Point every Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. You can experience Bahamian food, drinks and culture.
North Eleuthera Sailing Regatta
Experience one of the largest racing events in The Islands of The Bahamas, with Class A, B, and C native sailing sloops taking to the waters off North Eleuthera, Harbour Island, and Spanish Wells. The onshore activities include a church service, cultural shows, Bahamian food and drinks, and nightly entertainment with live band performances.
Annual Backyard Festival
During this annual festival, the entire Fig Tree area on Bay Street is transformed into a "Backyard." Locals and visitors get together to celebrate Bahamian culture, music and crafts. It also features live band performances and a Junkanoo rush-out by two groups.
Mars Bay Conch Festival
This annual festival showcases the history and culture of "conching" in South Andros and features a number of indigenous cultural activities that emphasize the conch:
All Andros Crab Fest
This annual event, held the second weekend in June, celebrates the crab-catching ways of Andros island, which is referred to as "The Land of Crabs." Activities include land crabs cooked in many ways, a crab cultural show, releasing of the crabs, a crab culinary contest, crabs of Andros life cycle display, and Rake & Scrape Music.
The venue is located 2.5 miles from the Andros Town Airport.
AUTEC's Arts & Craft Fair
This fair is sponsored by the AUTEC Company and is held on the AUTEC Naval Base in Andros Town, three minutes drive from the Andros Town airport. Native food, craft, American ceramics and food will be on sale. In order to attend the event, one must be a vendor or apply three days in advance for a visitor's pass.
The event ends at 1:00 p.m.
Andros Nights
Locals gather every week to dance and enjoy good ole Bahamian food prepared by ladies in the community. Everyone is welcome to join in. The event runs until 12:00 midnight.
