Annual Winter Residents Reception

In appreciation for their continual support to the community, the Ministry of Tourism welcomes our visitors, winter residents and cruising community.  There is Bahamian music by local entertainers, succulent native dishes, treats and lots more.  Come and bring the whole family to a delightful afternoon of tea, pastriesand Bahamian hospitality on Great Exuma.

Creative Nassau Market

This market is held biweekly (weather permitting) and offers a wide range of 'true true' Bahamian handmade products for sale — straw items, jewelry, paintings, ceramics, music, clothing, pet wares, local fruit popsicles and drinks, and so much more!

It is organized by "Creative Nassau" in  collaboration with the Downtown Nassau Partnership. Creative Nassau is a non-profit organization which obtained the prestigious UNESCO Creative Cities designation for the City of Nassau as a City of Crafts and Folk Arts in 2014.

The market closes at 5:00 p.m.

Arts & Crafts Festival

At this annual celebration of arts and crafts, local and international artists have their paintings, jewelry, carvings and other unique creations on display. While shopping and enjoying the beautiful scenery, you can also satisfy your appetite by sampling an assortment of tasty local hors d'oeuvres and sparkling drinks.

The Berry Islands Fest & Homecoming

This signature event celebrates everything indigenous to The Berry Islands: Culture, People, Food, Drinks, etc. Residents and visitors participate in cultural heritage activities throughout the islands—Junkanoo, exciting Bahamian dance, music, a gospel concert, games, artistic exhibitions, souvenirs, food and drink, and a Kamalami Boat Race.

Second Home Owners' Reception & Art Auction

This reception is held in honor of our Second-home Owners, and will feature a variety of Pot Luck dishes prepared by them and the locals. There will be Junkanoo and cultural performances and gift bags will be presented to the Second-home Owners. R. N. Gomez School, along with Ripples of Hope, will offer an Art Auction featuring the work of students and second-home owners. Proceeds will go to the school.

Winter Fest

Second home owners and Winter visitors gather to celebrate being out of the frigid temperatures of North America and also have an opportunity for social interaction with the locals. It includes a street festival, arts, souvenirs, food, drinks, and game vendors.

Bahamian Music and Heritage Festival

This event is an exciting time for the whole family. The Thursday evening gospel explosion launches the weekend of activities. Renowned local and visiting artists and other gospel artists will be performing. The festival also features an awesome lineup of The Bahamas’ most popular and talented musicians and local musicians. Arts and crafts, such as wood and conchshell carvings, will be on sale, along with Bahamian dishes. There will be lots of activities for kids as well as adults, including storytelling, singing, how-to exhibitions, an early dinner show, and lots more.
