On Thursday, January 17th, Grand Bahama Island received its first inaugural cruise call for the year, from the MS Oriana, at the Freeport Harbour.
The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation (BMOTA) recently held a joint dinner and mini tradeshow for sixty members of the Travel Industry Association (TIA) of South Florida.  The event, which was held at La Jolla in Coral Gables, marked the BMOTA’s return to TIA, the largest association of travel agents in South Florida.
With the recent success of Shark Week’s 30thseason on Discovery Channel, The Islands Of The Bahamas received tremendous exposure globally. In the process, the Bahamas National Trust (BNT) was awarded more than $250,000 toward its efforts for shark and marine conservation.
