Coastal Awareness Month is designed to educate the community on the importance of protecting the environment and the coastline. Throughout the month of April,  Bahamians are educated about the islands' natural resources and sustainability.

This family oriented Deep Sea and Bottom Fishing Tournament has been part of this landscape for more than thirty years. It caters primarily to local fishing enthusiasts but visitors can also participate. All levels of fishing abilities, including children, are encouraged to participate.

Boats sailing in the National Family Island Regatta
There will be five days of sailing featuring Bahamian native sloops – Classes A, B, C, D, and E. This tradition started in 1954 and today it is one of the oldest regattas in The Islands of The Bahamas.
