Sandals Royal Bahamian came up against major international hotels including W Barcelona, Hotel Arts Barcelona, Atlantis the Palm Dubai and Four Seasons Dubai at Jumeirah Beach, to secure gold at The Meetings and Incentive Travel Industry’s Oscars at a lavish ceremony in London on Friday 2 March.

The award was presented by breakfast TV star, Kate Garraway, at the Battersea Evolution.

Karl Thompson, Managing Director at Unique Vacations UK commented: “We are delighted to receive this award and we are extremely grateful to everyone who took the time to vote for Sandals Resorts to win such a major industry accolade. We have made a big impact in the MICE and group travel sector over the last few years but this will help strengthen our position in this market even more. This is also a result of an aggressive groups strategy delivered over the last few years and I am delighted for the UK Groups team who are as much recipients of this award as the resort.”

The M&IT Industry Awards recognise and reward excellence, and are the result of voting by UK based event organisers and the readers of Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine – with votes audited and verified by the independent Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC). The M&IT Awards are the oldest established awards programme in the meetings industry.
