Hero World Challenge To Donate To One Bahamas Fund For Every Birdie, Eagle And Hole In One Made During 2019 Tournament

ALBANY, Bahamas – As part of ongoing relief and rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Dorian, the Hero World Challenge announced today that additional donations will be made to the ONE Bahamas Fund through a charity challenge to the players. During the 2019 Hero World Challenge, the tournament will make a donation of $500 for each birdie, $1,000 for each eagle and $2,500 for each hole in one made by the professionals in competition rounds at Albany Wednesday, December 4 – Saturday, December 7.

In October, the tournament announced that proceeds from the 2019 Hero World Challenge would benefit the TGR Foundation and ONE Bahamas Fund, established to help the rebuilding efforts with a focus on education, housing and business restarts. Founded by Tiger Woods, actor and musician Justin Timberlake, NEXUS Luxury Collection, members of the Albany community and Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) following Hurricane Dorian, ONE Bahamas Fund has pledged $6 million toward the efforts with a dollar-for-dollar match in hopes of raising $12 million to help those impacted by the hurricane.

The Hero World Challenge will be held Wednesday, December 4 – Saturday, December 7, with live television coverage provided by GOLF Channel during all four rounds and by NBC during the final round.

About ONE Bahamas Fund

The ONE Bahamas Fund was created to support relief and rebuilding efforts in The Bahamas and to support its residents who were affected by Hurricane Dorian. Founders Justin Timberlake, Tiger Woods, NEXUS Luxury Collection, Royal Bank of Canada and members from the Albany community collectively pledged $6 million as a challenge gift, matching donations by the public dollar for dollar for the next $6 million – with a goal of raising a minimum of $12 million. The 501(c)(3) non-profit organization will direct funds toward both immediate response needs on the ground as well as long-term support focusing on shelter, education, community and seed funding for Bahamian businesses.
