American Airlines Expands Chicago Flight Offering

The Islands Of The Bahamas have become more accessible to people in Chicago thanks to American Airlines, which recently expanded its service from Chicago to Nassau. The route was originally a seasonal Saturday-only offering but will now be offered year round come Summer 2019.

This announcement comes as good news for the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation who is seeking to increase the number of flights to The Islands Of The Bahamas.

“The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation welcomes the decision by American Airlines (AA) to extend its Saturday-only flight from its Chicago hub to Nassau from seasonal service to year-round service,” said Minister of Tourism and Aviation Dionisio D’Aguilar.

“This is a good reflection of a strong sustained partnership between AA and The Islands Of The Bahamas.  We are confident that more flights would be added on this and other routes as the impact of our joint robust marketing efforts begins to take hold in the marketplace.”

American Airlines Managing DirectorAlfredo Gonzalez said the airline was delighted to add the service.

“American has a long and proud history in The Bahamas and we look forward to continue to strengthen our footprint next summer as our Nassau-Chicago service begins to operate year round. This new route will provide our customers flying to and from The Bahamas with year-round access to this important destination and connecting hub in the United States, where we currently operate more than 480 daily flights to more than 130 destinations around the world,” he said.
