3 Tides Opens At Baha Mar

The new 3 Tides Fish House at the Grand Hyatt in Baha Mar made waves with more than 100 guests who were lucky enough to attend its grand opening on April 5.

The 220-seat eatery is described as an approachable yet sophisticated twist on the classic fish house.

Officials say the restaurant’s concept is based on three pillars –sustainability, quality and simplicity.

Executive Chef of the Grand Hyatt Brent Martin said 3 Tides is the 24th restaurant to open at the hotel and so far all of the restaurants have been successful.

“I think 3 Tides is going to bring a whole different ball game to the Baha Mar. It’s a little bit more approachable then the other restaurants – this one really speaks to families. It’s really about simplistic food and it’s a great seafood house,” he said.

“We are bringing a lot of local seafood but also what is also international. Seeing what it is happening in all the restaurants, we have been fully booked and it is obviously great to see. All of the restaurants are great options for tourists but also for Bahamians.”

Parliamentary Secretary in the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation Travis Robinson agrees.

“About 70 percent of the tourists who come here come for sun, sand and sea but among that is our cuisine. So it is exciting for guests to see what we have to offer. One of the things that I took note of was Bahamian chefs who were out there preparing the food and so I think that this was a direct opportunity for guests to taste what we call true Bahamian cuisine,” he said.

“I’m excited for what this restaurant will offer, what this resort will offer and this will only help to grow and boost our tourism product.”

3 Tides serves breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is served from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. while dinner is served from 6:00 p.m. to 11: 00 p.m.

The restaurant features a raw bar, modern sushi and sashimi dishes and a variety of surf and turf options. Diners can also choose from hot, cold and interactive desserts.
