Attend a tea party at the historic Government House in Nassau, and be greeted by the Governor General. The tea is hosted by various prominent Bahamian women, and you can enjoy local bush teas, live music, view a fashion show by local designers and sample locally made sandwiches and pastries.
Locals gather every week to dance and enjoy good ole Bahamian food prepared by ladies in the community. Everyone is welcome to join in. The event runs until 12:00 midnight.
Every Friday Night the Governor's Harbour Development Association holds a Fish Fry at Anchor Bay in Governor's Harbour. This event attracts many tourists and locals every week. Proceeds from the event benefit the annual Homecoming and various projects within the community.
This annual festival is designed to provide an impressive display for visitors and locals by decorating each tree on Bay Street with festive white Christmas lights. Lighting of the trees takes place on the first Friday in December.
