Bio of Mrs. Beverly Wallace Whitfield, M.V.O.
I hold a B.A. Degree in Sciences from Talladega College, USA, a Certificate in Education from Kingston-upon-Hull College of Education, England, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Secretarial Studies from Strathclyde University in Scotland.
I have worked in public service in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the Government Chief of Protocol. Prior to this, I was posted to Government House, where I served in the senior post of Secretary to the first Bahamian Governor-General.
A Bahamian by birth, I am active in many volunteer organizations, including the Bahamas Red Cross Society, the Claridge Primary School/Holy Cross Church Outreach Programme and the Project Read Adult Literacy Programme. My affiliation with the Ministry of Tourism spans many years as Bahama Host lecturer, People to People volunteer (from inception) and facilitator of many of their seminars and workshops both her and in the Family Islands.
I am a proud mother of three sons and five grandchildren. I am Charter and Golden Life member of the Nassau, Bahamas chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I love the People To People program and enjoy reading, going to the movies, music and dancing.
