Eleuthera’s People to People Volunteer Host Workshop A Huge Success!
The People-to-People Unit is working hard to ensure that it meets the Ministry’s mission of creating satisfying vacation experiences for visitors to our islands. They have just completed three (3) Volunteer Training & Recruitment seminars on Eleuthera to introduce new volunteer hosts to the concept of the People-to-People program. These seminars provided the new volunteers with ideas on how to successfully host their guests with a contemporary modern flair that ensured comfort and affordability to the both the visitor and host while reflecting island living. These full spirited workshops were conducted by Mrs. DeAnne Gibson, Assistant Manager of the People-to-People Unit, Ms. Teri Sands, Eleuthera Tourist Office and Mrs. Leslie Pinder Nassau a Nassau based volunteer.

As a result of these workshops, Eleuthera now has 37 new hosts who stand ready to showcase all that Eleuthera has to offer the visitor from an islander’s view point. To ensure a balanced spread of new hosts, the workshops were held in North Eleuthera, Central Eleuthera and South Eleuthera.
Now Eleuthera is ready to make its mark in sharing its island’s rich history, beautiful culture and cuisine. The next step is to update Eleuthera’s web page to include the PTP Program as well as information on the available hosts. We are making strides to provide our visitors with a unique vacation experience!
