Come Home To Your Family In The Islands of The Bahamas
The Bahamas invite South Floridians to explore their Bahamian heritage
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – November 11, 2009 – We all know there’s no place like home – especially if your home has white and pink sand beaches and turquoise water. With this in mind, The Islands Of The Bahamas have teamed up with WHQT Hot105 FM to invite South Floridians to trace their roots in the sun-drenched 700-island archipelago.

To encourage South Floridians to explore the possibility of a Bahamas heritage through genealogical research as well as prompt them to celebrate as a group in The Islands Of The Bahamas, the grand prize of the “Come Home to Your Family” will be a family reunion trip for 10 to The Bahamas.
The promotion, which will run through the end of February 2010, will invite WHQT Hot 105 FM listeners to submit their findings in a story format describing how and what they uncovered about their roots at www.hot105fm.com. The most exciting and interesting story will be awarded the grand prize trip.
“We see this as a great opportunity to boost tourism, not only to The Bahamas generally, but to our Out Islands in particular,” said Anita Patty, general manager of Communications in the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism & Aviation. “It is our hope that many people will join in the educational and cultural fun and decide to visit various islands to explore their roots, and subsequently even choose one of the smaller islands as the venue for a future family reunion.”
Life in the 700 Islands Of The Bahamas just keeps getting better. And it’s easy to see why. With world-class diving and fishing, miles of picture perfect beaches, and gorgeous turquoise water, visitors have the opportunity to do everything or nothing at all. From Exuma, Eleuthera and Abaco to exciting Nassau/Paradise Island and Grand Bahama Island, this tropical paradise is as culturally diverse as it is vibrantly beautiful.
