This annual sailing competition features a variety of festive activities, in addition to the racing with Class A, B, and C sloops. There will be a float parade from the airport to the Regatta Park, bus tours throughout the island, boat curing, boat riding with performances by Bahamian artists and other activities on board, a fashion show, beauty pageant, local food and drinks for sale, fun and games for the entire family - such as plaiting of the pole, climbing the greasy pole - and contests like conch cracking, bark beating, dancing and much more, plus an award ceremony and skippers' party.

Traditional Bahamian wooden sloops are featured at this event, and the highlight will be the Class A, B & C boat race. The venue is located 20 miles from the San Andros Airport.
Sailors of well-known Class A, B, and C sloops from throughout The Islands of The Bahamas will compete in different races just off Taino Beach in Lucaya. Trophies and cash prizes are awarded to the top boaters, but the most sought-after prize is the reputation of being "Champion of the Sea."
